First post: Welcome back

The Mobile Fanatics have been missing in action for a long while. Long story short… years back our site got hacked. I was super busy at the time with kids and career, and being extremely frustrated with the website issues, everything got shut down. It was sad and extremely lame.

But here I am. Back again, giving it another go. I’ve been recently inspired by a few pieces of technology and a few friends who are just starting their influencer adventure (influencer — is that what we’re called nowadays?).

What pieces of technology have me excited about mobile tech again? Well, if you know me from “back in the day” you know I’m a huge sucker for mobile photography. Nokia phones were my jam, especially the Nokia N82 and eventually the Nokia N9. Through Nokia’s (and Microsoft Lumia’s) demise, I eventually became a Google Pixel user. So right now I’m enjoying my Pixel 10 Pro and the amazing photos and video it takes. It’s a tool to capture our life — the kids and their sports, everyday ramblings, and our crazy adventures.

But what really put me over the top to get this site going again?

The Macbook Neo.

And that came completely out of left field. I’ve always been a Windows user, and most recently a Chromebook user. Macbooks have always seemed too expensive for me — despite being frustrated with Windows computers and the limitations of ChromeOS. Over the years my Windows computers have frustrated me to the point where I just stopped using computers to do creative tasks — no video editing, annoyed by photo editing, and even website “stuff” — like this page — was downright frustrating. I eventually just edited family videos on my phone and didn’t do much with them. I shared a ton of photos to various social media platforms through the phone apps. But real creative work on the computer just wasn’t a thing for me.

And then Neo comes to the market just one month ago. I had never used macOS before this and never really wanted to, mostly because of the price. I have always kind of despised the iPhone as being toy-ish, so I never bothered giving macOS a chance. But damn was I wrong!

I am still learning the ins and outs of this operating system, but it blows Windows out of the water on many fronts. I can go on and on about that topic — maybe in another post. But I find myself actually wanting to pickup my Neo and get creative “work” done everyday.

With Apple bringing the Neo in at a price of $599, I decided to give it a shot. Needless to say I am extremely happy with this device so far — so much so that it has inspired my to re-launch this blog.

I didn’t mean for this post to be this long. But I just kept rambling it seems. Oh well. If you got this far… thanks for reading! Not sure where I’ll take this page, but for now it’ll probably a place to share my favorite “cameraphone” photos from my Flickr page. Yep Flickr. Taking it WAYYYY back!

Cheers!
